Default Letter templates

Good morning all,
Still need letter templates for letters to ICO, SRA and ISP.
If people have suggestions, or want to send in what they used, please do so we can get something together for others to use.

Couple of questions;
What country were logistep spying on UK internet users from when they obtained the "evidence"?
Who asked them to do it, Davenport Lyons, Reality Pump or were they just spying on people in another country on the chance that they could sell the info at a later date to an unscrupulous solicitor.
I'm glad to see that microsoft have mellowed since Bill left since they seem ok with two unconnected rival law firms sharing their software, oh hang on a minute aren't they accusing us of sharing software?
Anybody help on the first two Q's

Thanks Beingscammed for that link. As you can see, apparently KaZaa was installed and it automatically adds files by default to the shared file folder so if you look at it that way they can't prove that someone intentionally distributed the file.

But my main point still is, why is it that people that didn't download the specific file or distributed it, are being accused of such thing? Shouldn't the law firms base their arguments on strong evidence before accusing someone?
Of course they should but they haven't.

Hi Beingscammed thanks for that. I am on Virgin Media and the IP Number on the letter sent to me is MY IP Number. I have a static CABLE modem connection. I did NOT download this file "Call of Juaerez" But how can I prove that when all i read is about wifi connections and non static IP addresses?

I am in a cycle of worried - NOT worried - worried - NOT worried. Arghhhhhh!

I have even run a search on my PC for any traces of this damned file and still found NOTHING. (I think I am having a low day)

My ip is dynamic so not sure how that will play out..

Im the same always up and down and now getting to the point were I will go see the doctor and need now to hunt around for some sort of legal help because I'm thinking they want to win BADLY and want to make examples of people and I do not want to be a bastard statistic to them..seeing as I didn't infringe at all but proving so is hard seeing as the so called offense took place more than a year ago.

obviously me not being fairly clever with the way lawyers go on and no funds for a respected lawyer I'm more or less on the ropes for now but still holding out for certain things to develop more

Happy days...

What's the point of rhetorical questions anyway?

Hi Hickster,
I was wondering this myself for a while. Then I start reading about how if I'm logged off of my cable modem, and someone has "sniffed" my MAC address, they can use it to connect to my ISP, pretending to be me.
Analogy would be if you used a remote lock on your car, and as you were locking/unlocking it one morning someone recorded the frequency that you use, and when you're asleep they unlock your car using this recording and use it as they like. In our case, they would have been driving on the road, and the police think that there are people speeding on the road so they take photos of everyone driving on the road, and a year later they send you a fine saying "We can show that your car was driving on the road last year, and we know people were speeding so unless you pay us £655 within 21 days we'll take you to court and things will be much worse"

While some people continue to pay out because they are bullied into paying they have no need to take anyone to court it wouldnt make sense to do so, we seem to forget this.

If they get to the stage where the money dries up because people no longer give into this scam and defend themselves, at that point they may make a legal challange but only because they have nothing else to loose. I feel the same some days better than others I try not to let this bother me , but cant say it doesn't.

Well, since this is dated from last year, the supposed date when the file was downloaded and was made available for others to download, I was with a different ISP, Tesco and I also had a wireless router. I still have the router and the wireless network adapter downstairs in the garage.
I am now with Sky, and although I have a wireless router, I am not wirelessly connected.
Not very good for the Xbox lol. Better to connect directly.

Anyway, about the rethoric. Well I know it might confuse people even further but nevertheless it is wrong for these law firms to act like moneygrabbing aristocrats and that's why I pondered some of the questions.

Panther,
The address they quote is merely the address that they are corresponding with you now at. They never say that the offence took place at this address. Along with a lot of things they never actually say.
