Default Web Page

Good morning all,
Got to run off to work, but, am registering a web page which will give a "What to do" and template of letters, as well as links to all the good info that we've found.
Will update later

Default Good Work.

GoodWork Beingscammed & Saywhat, That is an excellent idea on putting a webpage up on the what to do with templates. There is that many posts if something new is added to this forum and then to the Website so we can access it.

I haven't heard anything back from Watchdog since submitting the PDF lastnight but I will check back later tonight.

I was going to ask when is the best time to send responses do you think we should start sending them ASAP?

Default When should I send my LOD?

For all of you who have asked, and might soon join this forum and ask...
When should I send my Letter of Denial?
Wait. Wait another week please, as so much is developing everyday that will give your letter more and more weight when you send it, and help foreclose any further action ACS might try to take in the future. Also, over the next week we may recieve some excellent professional help via some friends.
As far as I am aware, the vast majority of the current batch (1000s) of letters, were sent out on or around the 5th of May, and we received them on or around last Thursday the 7th of May, making this Day 7 of the current battle. You have twice as long still to send your reply.
Tomorrow night the initial website will be ready, and I will be inviting everyone to email me at the website all and any useful links. I envisinge the site to be a simple static page with a very high hit rate and google ranking.
For the meantime, please stay active, do all the contacting, complaining and sending letters that you can. Get this public, tell your friends.

"There is no connection, financial or otherwise, between Davenport Lyons and ACS Law. Davenport Lyons will continue to undertake file-sharing work for other clients,"

Took this from The Register.

does this not mean that ACS:law are actually now working on there own, because unless ive missed something, and if this is the case they would they not have to be regestered on company house and the ico to gain control of all our person info. Im guessing this is me overlooking something again but i had a look through nd im gettin a little confused.

cool make sure you call it BEINGSCAMMEDBYASSLAW.CO.UK

ALSO GUYS REMEMBER your date starts from the date written on the letter not when you actually received it

answer to one of the previous posts. the reason why they didnt send letters by registered mail is that it costs money and also hoping people would ignore them, so they can win on default. chances are they are going to be people out there whose letter s have been lost and acslaw are taking them to court while they have no knowledge of it.
And it looks like TOPWARE are no strangers to copyrights and courts..
I like the bit where they say we something like 'we spend more time in court then developing software'

thanks for link absolut taken from slyck

My letter was posted on Saturday, wish I had held out for a bit more information, oh well, can always use it if they reply, lol.

Had a phone call off Claire Dunn @ BBC Watchdog today. I have scanned and sent a copy of the ACS Letter to her aswell as any information I have obtained.

Looks like they may just be looking into it folks

Hi all, great work to you all .

if we are responsible for our wifi connection why are the police arresting people for it.
The post is a bit old but still how can people get arrested if im meant to be responsible for securing my wifi ???
,Using someone else's wireless internet service without their permission breaks the Communications Act, which prohibits dishonestly obtaining a communications service

Wi-Fi leechers arrested | OUT-LAW.COM

I know this is not what we are talking about but it is still an infringement if we do it ......so heads up tv phone watchers

Users of the BBC's trial of TV-over-Wi-Fi networks will break the law if they plug in their mobile phones in locations not covered by a television licence, the TV Licensing Authority has warned.
Wi-Fi Beeb viewing may break law • The Register

sorry for straying off ....

Default More fuel for the fire!

Just got off the phone with the SRA to lodge a complaint and the chap on the phone said there were some findings/orders against Mr Andrew Crossley and as it's public info would I like a copy...hell yeah.

I realise it's not that relevant as it was about 5 years ago and he was just fined but just thought it may be of interest to some.

Kudos to all who have done their bit to let the relevant people/authorities know. Glad to hear that Watchdog are taking an interest and the Register article is also very promising. Shows we are really being heard. I have contacted Watchdog, Which, SRA, Consumer Direct/Trading Standards (however they don't seem too interested though)

Keep up the FIGHT!!!

Default Hope Every One Is Okkkk

HI again I have been reading the forum and the read my letter again, I don't now if this is right but my wife got the letter but we have had the account with now Virgin Media for queit a while and before that cable north west, in both are names but the threat was to my wife, and with Cable Internet Ltd the ISP,which was a long time ago,who was bought buy VM now and has been for quiet a while. Is the forensic computer analysts INFO out of date, reason I ask is Cable Internet was set up by my wife some 14 years ago. which was CABLE INTERNET LTD.
In the letter from ACS-LAW and the forensic computer analysts they have my IP Address and time date and P2P Client/Protocol, now I have had a good look at the back and it says that File name DREAM PINBALL 3D-POSTMORTEM.wWw.NewTDT.COM. I put the under lined in to address bar and guess it came up blank as anyone alse tried this??
Also in the letter it it says file size ###.## now is this kb, KB. then a file ID.and P2P BitTorent. Any idea what the full size of this game is.????

I am still holding out and not sending a letter just yet, Like to now how other people has got on with ACS and the out come, or have they not replied and just waiting for the 21day to come up........

Thanks to ALL BAZZ 555

Default My trip to the CAB!

Hi Guys, just been to the CAB(Citizens Advice) and they confirmed they HAD received letters of this type before and that there had been NO Court action that they knew of. They advised me to write a "letter of denial" but I was at this point inscensed when one of the Advisors said after reading the letter, that as far as he was concerned ACS:LAW was "Trying it on", he asked if I wanted to see the resident Solicitor and I said "Love to", I have made an appointment with him next WEDNESDAY, and I will hold off to then sending my LOD as that will still give me about 5 days left to go.

I am think of taking one of the template letter, I believe "Beingscammed" did an excellent one so I will run it past the Solicitor if that is ok with you "beingscammed" and maybe he will say as I think, excellent or maybe he might even tune it to a higher pitch. I will of course share what he says with you all.

I am quite on fire now with all this, and although my family think a result would be just for them to drop the case, after reading all the heartache and stress that all of us have suffered that is NOT ENOUGH! I want to know if I can take THEM to court! Of course this might not be possible due to finances but I am going to give it my best shot!

These people will keep pulling this scam until they are defeated, IN COURT!

Peace to you all (Especially those doing their exams)
