Why doesn't DRM work on video sites?
Question, and have been trying to figure this out for a while:
Take Joost, Amazon's Unbox, etc. They are sites that offer download and DRM. I've also noticed Vuze has DRM on a few files that appear on their front end.
I understand why a user would not like DRM...we can all agree that it sucks. But why are the download numbers for content with DRM so drastically low? That's the part I don't get.
I would think the issue would be once the user DOWNLOADS the file, and THEN hates the DRM. But why before the user can even see whether the DRM is even there?
Why do DRM'ed files fail to even make decent download numbers? Is it just about the content itself or a larger issue?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
